The Renaissance Washington, D.C. hotel approached IDEAS to provide a quick operational assessment, updated wayfinding nomenclature, specific guest experience enhancements, and new positioning strategies to help the hotel leverage its prime location across from the Washington D.C. Convention Center.
Based on fijndings from a site tour and observed guest and staff interaction,the IDEAS team developed new “hotel business positioning” presenting the location as the “reason to meet” or “R2M” embracing its uniquely central location. Additional recommendations included updated entry statements, signage, and property improvements de;icted in conceptual B&W concept sketches. New naming options and menu offerings were developed for the main restaurant. A rebranded experience for the 11th Floor Terrace (Eleventh Heaven) transformed it from a daytime lunch patio into an exciting and sophisticated rooftop lounge, and pr recommendations for the hotel’s outside corridor along 8th Street created an energetic “Marketplace” feature for the hotel.
