The Falcone Group and Encore Development collaborated to transform the destination landscape in Osceola County, Florida. The new Margaritaville Resort Orlando offers a “chill” escape from Orlando’s crowded theme park destinations, welcoming guests to enjoy branded hotel and vacation home lodging, a grand “Sunset Walk” retail, dining and entertainment complex, and a first-of-its-kind water park where guests can design their own experiences.
IDEAS and our research partners at Integrated Insight worked closely with the park operator, Innovative Attraction Management, and their key ride and show fabricators at Whitewater and Wyldblue on developing a completely new water park experience portfolio that would provide branded distinction from similar regional destinations, and reinvent how fun, water, and sunshine can unleash the power of pure play.
IDEAS gathered fans, industry experts in water park design, operations and safety, tourism, and technology for a day long StoryJam to distill insights and create a guiding design narrative and guest experience story for the destination. Based on audience preference and appeal analysis from Integrated insight’s primary market research, IDEAS developed a complete Experience Design Plan and created a new brand that would resonate with millennials/GenZ, resort guests, regional tourists, local residents, and business partners.
Launching to rave reviews in the summer of 2019, The Island H2O Live! water park experience gives today’s socially connected guest myriads of ways to tailor their day through innovative applications of technology and share their “thrill or chill fun” in real-time with friends and followers – all while enjoying impeccable service, great food or their favorite specialty cocktail, and lively entertainment featuring DJs, musicians, performers, and dancers who always keep the party mood going!
