IDEAS Completes Rebrand and Website for Film Florida

By John Lux

IDEAS recently completed work on the rebrand and website for the entertainment production association Film Florida. IDEAS worked with Film Florida to better align the association with its members, partners, legislators, and industry leaders. Along with a new brand charter, IDEAS helped Film Florida incorporate its new positioning statement, “Entertainment Production Association,” to better communicate what Film Florida represents. The visual identity can also be seen within Film Florida’s new website and marketing materials.

“Film Florida is a one-of-a-kind association that has a well-respected established history in representing the film, television, and digital media industry. It was only natural that Film Florida had a strong attachment to its original look and image from its first days of incorporation,” noted Michelle Hillery, Film Florida President and Deputy Film Commissioner, Palm Beach County Film & Television Commission. “The talented team at IDEAS was brilliant in crafting and implementing a fresh brand identity that included a new logo, messaging, and beautifully designed website. IDEAS quickly and successfully produced a quality product that will positively position Film Florida for years to come.”

As part of the process, IDEAS used a wide variety of resources to create the new brand charter for Film Florida. A StoryJam facilitated by IDEAS, culture mapping of key industry leaders, a brand audit, and comparative benchmarking were used in gathering necessary information. From those sources, IDEAS made recommendations on core brand charter language and eventually visual identity designs. Once a new logo was chosen, corresponding elements were created including a new sizzle reel, trade show booth, letterhead, marketing materials, and a website to name a few.

“I was fortunate enough to act as part client and part vendor on this project so when we started talking about making changes to the Film Florida brand, I jumped at the chance to have IDEAS help,” commented John Lux, Chief Operating Officer of IDEAS and Treasurer of Film Florida. “The entertainment production industry includes more than 16,000 companies and over 100,000 professionals in Florida. Film Florida works to implement a more powerful economic policy, effective worldwide marketing, positive economic impact, and professional standards of excellence and that’s something IDEAS supports wholeheartedly which is why we wanted to help even with most of the work being done in-kind.”
