National Sales Director Positions

Title: National Sales Director- Government Market
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Role: The role requires an experienced sales professional who can confidently generate and pursue qualified leads in the government market. The Sales Director will be provided overhead support (facility-wide receptionist, copy and printing, business cards, sales collateral, demonstration materials, website, meeting set-up assistance, etc.) and will manage their own time and office hours. The emphasis is on prospecting and generating high qualified lead volume. Other senior staff will assist with pitches, presentations and closing business. The Sales Director will be required to attend a sales meeting (via phone or in person) for a minimum of 1 hour, once a week. In addition, the Sales Director will need to be at IDEAS to conduct presentations and pitches as well as at client’s locations as required. This is a full time position (40-50 hours per week) and may include reimbursable travel for lead development and attendance at appropriate events to develop qualified leads.
Responsibilities:
- Create and execute an individual sales plan
- Generate and qualify solid leads from new potential clients
- Leverage the company sales and other leadership to assist in closing business
- Maintain long term relationships
Accountabilities:
- Minimum $1.5 Million in annual revenue from new business
Measurement Criteria:
- New business developed and booked within a fiscal year
Compensation:
- Base + commission and benefits
Criteria for Success
- The successful candidate will have a track record in government sales of high-end professional services including a good working knowledge of government procurement practices and requirements. IDEAS has been awarded two GSA schedules, 541 and 874, which should assist in uncovering key opportunities in the media production, consulting services, and training industries. The ability to align IDEAS with teaming opportunities is also a key factor. This position is explicitly a sales role. Although helpful, “account services” skills are secondary to lead development and closing skills. A self-disciplined, competitive sales professional will enjoy the creative, challenging, and fast paced environment. Commission is on gross revenue and not capped.

The emphasis is on prospecting and generating high qualified lead volume. Other senior staff will assist with pitches, presentations and closing business.
