National Pie Day
By John Lux
Today we celebrated National Pie Day. About two weeks ago Caroline Masse asked if we could celebrate by asking our staff to bake/make two pies each. One pie would be for our celebration and the other would be for our friends at the Women’s Residential & Counseling Center located a couple blocks from our building. A few times a year we have the privilege of cooking and serving dinner to the residents at the WRCC. This time, Caroline had the idea of making pies for them. The results are below and David Bain and Charles Moore will bring another 12 pies to the WRCC later this afternoon. A good time was had by all and it helped a great cause.
And the winner of the IDEAS National Pie Day cook-off is …. Rebecca Hodges and her BLUEBERRY pie. She is now the proud owner of the “Golden Oven Mitt”.
