Dr. Phillips Center Construction Fence Unveiling Celebration
By John Lux
This morning we attended the construction fence unveiling celebration at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Orlando. The fence was designed by students from Central Florida. The first part of the ceremony was held across the street from the Performing Arts Center construction site in front of City Hall. After a short ceremony that included performances by local student groups, the fence was unveiled and we were invited across the street to see the fence up close. The fence is made up of children’s drawings that were scanned, blown up, and made in to sections of the fence. The guests were also invited to sign a commemorative section of fence and in the parking lot of the Performing Arts Center there were additional performances from local student groups. In addition to being a client of ours, the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts is a wonderful organization and we look forward to the next couple years of construction followed by tremendous performances of all kinds in the theaters.
