IDEAS Completes Foley for Feature Film “Renee”
By John Lux
IDEAS has completed Foley for the independent feature film Renee, the true story of a young Florida woman whose commitment to cease her cycle of chaos from drug addiction, alcohol abuse and self-injury motivates many teenagers and young adults today. The story inspired the global social movement To Write Love on Her Arms (TWLOHA). The execution of Foley was done at the Orlando-based IDEAS studio in downtown Orlando.
“We have been involved with a number of feature films this year and were happy to provide Foley services for this film” commented John Lux, COO of IDEAS. “We built our new post audio mix room with the expectation of doing a wide range of post audio work so to be involved with a feature film such as Renee is validation of our goals. We have a long history of doing broadcast and feature film audio and we were pleased to have been chosen to be on this team.”
The story follows 19-year-old Renee who has always loved fairy tales: the idea of a princess, a hero and a happily ever after. But Renee’s life is that of a darker tale: she’s a young woman battling addiction, depression and self-injury. The movie follows Renee on her courageous journey towards recovery. The film stars Kat Dennings (“Two Broke Girls”, “Thor”, “Nick & Nora’s Infinite Playlist”), Chad Michael Murray (“One Tree Hill”) and Rupert Friend (“The Young Victoria,” “Pride & Prejudice”), along with the supporting cast which includes Corbin Bleu (“High School Musical”), Mark Saul (“The Social Network,” “Grey’s Anatomy”), Will Peltz (“Sugar”) and Juliana Harkavy (“Dolphin Tale”). The film was produced by Cameron “Kim” Dawson, David Blair McKenna, and David Nixon with Executive Producers Tom Swanson and Jayson Stringfellow. The film was done in collaboration with Two Streets Entertainment and Bonded Entertainment and was shot in Orlando. The production was awarded a Florida Film Incentive Tax rebate. The Founder of TWLOHA Jamie Tworkowski, was portrayed by Murray in the film.
