IDEAS Wins Telly Awards for Funky Holiday Sweater Video
By John Lux
IDEAS has been awarded two Telly Awards for its Funky Holiday Sweater music video. The video, featuring IDEAS’ in-house band, 64 IDEAS, and the rest of the IDEAS team, was created in December to go with the annual IDEAS e-greeting, which allowed users to create an on-line holiday sweater. The video quickly became an internet sensation, even being featured in the New York Daily News. The video was given Telly Awards in the Internet/Online Video – Viral and Comedy categories.
“Every year, our clients and friends look forward to our holiday e-greetings,” stated Shirley Decker, EVP Business Development of IDEAS. “This year our vast audience was able to create their own sweater on-line and then they were treated to a bonus when our team decided to create this song and make such a wonderful music video. The video was more than we ever imagined and we are extremely pleased that our team was recognized with two different Telly Awards.”
Founded in 1979, the Telly Awards is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and web commercials, videos and films. Winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world.
“We look forward to the challenges thrown our way in creating entertaining e-cards throughout the year,” Brian Nutt, Art Director, commented. “Including great animation, the right sound effects and music, and sometimes video, allow us a chance to have some fun and create memorable birthday cards, thank you messages – and reasons we haven’t thought of yet!”
