Revolution in Navy Training

“Sharpening The Sea Warrior: Take Command of your Future”, The Revolution in Navy Training Interactive CD-ROM was produced for the Navy Training Development Command. The purpose of this project was to create a CD-ROM that promotes and explains the Sea Warrior and the U.S. Navy’s Revolution in Training (RIT) programs and initiatives to sailors throughout the United States Navy. The objective was to motivate sailors to log onto Navy Knowledge Online, the Navy’s online portal, and use the 5 Vector Model, career management tools, and other learning resources that are now available for them to manage their lives and careers.

The primary target audience of the CD-ROM was sailors under 30 years of age. The core focus for all messages in the product is how these programs relate to the individual sailor’s goals. The product was targeted for delivery for the official launch of the Sea Warrior program.

The voice over dialogue and talent used to narrate and interject points were male (enlisted sailor) and female (commanding officer) voiced with a fresh, enthusiastic, and youthful tone. The male expressed reservations of the casual everyday working sailor while the female portrayed an insider with useful information about the newly launched Revolution In Training.

Discussions are now underway to add new CD-ROMs and build a library of materials to support in both the sailors’ personal and professional growth.
