The Classroom Computer™
Now students in grades 5-10 can have fun while learning and practicing basic computer literacy skills! The idea to create The Classroom Computer™ was born from teachers’ comments made during the first implementation of its predecessor and sister product Investigating Technology™. Teachers kept saying, “Wow, I wish you’d make a product like this for my students!” So we did! We revoiced it, made new assessments that meet the needs of students, and aligned it with the National Educational Technology Standards for Students (NETS-S) developed by ISTE.
Instruction is scaffolded, beginning with guided practice sessions that direct the student as they learn specific tasks. Then, “System Checks” within each module allow the student to try out their new skills, while still having access to a “help” button if they get stuck.
